Afrolatindio Dreamworks creates stories with a pulse. Born from the rich African, Indigenous Taíno and Spanish roots of the Dominican experience, we build films that honor where we come from while speaking to who we are everywhere.
Historically, the people in the land of Hispaniola, have a mix of African, Spanish and the Taino Indians. The migration of the Spaniards, who later brought African slaves, had a major influence on what is the mestizo mix of the Dominican. It is the history of the Dominican people and its foundation of Spanish, Indian and African beginnings that gave Nelson the desire to connect with and embrace his heritage. Thus, the name Afrolatindio was born.
